The big portion of Zman and Drama Queen’s Summer activities came to an end last week.
Both baseball and soccer are over and we are back to a normal routine around here….for now.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen a tweet from me yesterday morning that went like this:

Then, about an hour later the torrential downpours started.
And stopped.
And started.
And stopped.
I think you get the idea.

So, the boys (Hardworking Hubby, Zman & Tatertot) took me out to dinner last night before baseball.
We went to Red Robin, enjoyed our meal and when we left the sky looked like this:

Little did we know, that was just the calm before the storm.
In less then an hour things in our town looked like this:

The gentlemen in this picture were kind enough to push my van home after it go stuck in almost 2 feet of water, stalled, floated and started to take on water.

Our basement also took on some water and we are working on getting things cleaned up.
When we went to bed at 4am our street and a few surrounding ones were still barricaded in addition to being under water.

Just remember,
be careful what you wish for…..
You just might get it.
And then some!

I sat waiting for the UPS truck to pull up in front of my house all day and drop off my new toy.  I had been tracking it on their website for a week to make sure it would arrive as scheduled.  Ever since I got the email that I was receiving a Vado Pocket Video Cam from MomTV I was thrilled!!

I am happy to tell you…it arrived shortly before 6PM today!

It’s sooooo pretty in pink!!!

Would somebody please tell me how it can possibly be June 1st?

It can’t be!

How did the last 5 months go by so fast?

My kids only have 7.5 days left of school. A full week this week and full days Monday & Tuesday next week followed by a 1/2 day on Wednesday.

Then they get a week off and off to summer school they go.

I let them take fun things in summer school.

Zman is in Ceramics & Cookies, Cookies, Cookies.

The Drama Queen is in Computer Creations & Amazing Science Experiments.

Should be a fun Summer.

I think we are also going to be enrolling the Drama Queen in Kids Camp @ Comedy City this year. (Grandma & Grandpa have generously offered to cover the cost!) It’s pretty cool!  She LOVES Comedy City! It’s a short camp—just 4 days.  In that time her and the other ‘campers’ will learn the art and skills of improvisation-things like teamwork, communication, stage presence and confidence.  The week ends with the ‘campers’ putting on a show for family and friends.

Other than that, our Summer Schedule kicks of this week!  Soccer and baseball are now both 2 nights a week and pretty much @ the same time on the same nights.  There are a few games when they are not playing at the same time, but things are going to get hectic starting Tuesday.  We have to be @ the soccer fields @ 6:30 for pictures and then the Drama Queen plays @ 7.  At another park about a mile down the road, Zman will be playing in his baseball game. This is going to happen every Tuesday & Thursday—baseball until July 14th, Soccer until July 21st!

So—back to this week.

Did I mention the Drama Queen also has 2 field trips this week?  One on Tuesday, the other on Friday.

I think that once this week is over and I’m done running errands and grocery shopping on Friday—I’m calling it quits for the weekend.  (Except that we are busy on Sunday——Grrrrrrr……….)
