It’s hard to believe that our Little Bean is already 6 weeks old.
Over the weekend we put the finishing touches on her crib and then let her try it on for size.

I can’t believe just how little she looks in that big crib.
I think she will be staying in her bassinet a little longer!
In other Bean news, she’s still doing good. She spits up A LOT so we are constantly doing laundry. Right now she has a bit of a cold so we are doing our best to get rid of it.
All in all, things are great and we are still just as smitten with her as we were the day she arrived!
As you know, we recently welcomed the newest addition to our family, Little Miss Baby Bean. Of course with her arrival, we were very excited to share her and announce her birth to all of our friends and family near and far. Thanks to our wonderful friends at Tiny Prints we were able to do so with some beautiful custom birth announcements.
When choosing the perfect birth announcement for Bean, I spent hours looking through them all and trying out different pictures until I finally went back to the first one I had ‘tried on’ and decided this was the one!

Tiny Prints did such a wonderful job with these announcements and was even nice enough to adjust the coloring in the original photo to make sure we were getting a great print! We have grown to love Tiny Prints over the years and have used a variety of their products including holiday cards, day planners, thank you notes and more and I’m already looking through baby shower invites for a close friends shower that will be happening in a few months!
Thank you Tiny Prints for once again for a job well done and for helping us share the news of the birth of our Little Bean!

Have you had one of those teachers who really made an impact on your life?
I did.
Here name was Mary Johnson and she was my 8th grade C.A. (Communication Arts) teacher. She was the one and only teacher who encouraged me to continue with my creative writing. I’m pretty sure if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be writing this post right now.
In Dead Poets Society (one of my favorite flicks), Robin Williams inspires his students to think for themselves and live life to the fullest. This method of teaching is, of course, frowned upon by the faculty when an unexpected tragedy occurs.
The movie stars Robin Williams as Professor John Keating, Ethan Hawke as Todd Anderson and Robert Sean Leonard as Neil Perry. Oh, and if you watch the show The Good Wife, you will recognize a young Josh Charles (Will Gardner) as Knox Overstreet (he is in the clip below!) Tom Schulman won the Academy Award or Best Original Screenplay in 1989 for this film as well.
Here is a short clip from the film.
The Blu-ray is filled with awesome bonus features such as:
“Dead Poets: A Look Back” featuring interview footage with Director Peter Weir, Ethan Hawke, Robert Sean Leonard and many others; “Raw Takes;” “Master of Sound: Alan Splet” – interviews with David Lynch And Peter Weir; “Cinematography Master Class” – an intensive and inspirational lighting workshop with Cinematographer John Seale; “Audio Commentary” with Director Peter Weir, Cinematographer John Seale and Writer Tom Schulman; and the “Theatrical Trailer.”
I personally enjoyed watching the “Theatrical Trailer” again for the first time ever since the film came out when I was a mere 11 years old.
This is also a film that I was happy to introduce to my 2 older children (age almost 13 and just shy of 12). Both of the kids really enjoyed the movie and loved the message they took from it which as they summed it up was to think outside the box.
We gladly recommend this film for any home movie collection!
