My current health predicament is turning into the never ending saga.
I saw my family doctor today, the Fantabulous Dr. J that we all love and adore.
After explaining to him everything that has happened over the past few weeks and going over test results from my recent hospital stay, notes from the doctors who cared for me and a thorough explanation of the symptoms I have been experiencing he has decided it would be in my best interest to have a colonoscopy (Yay me!) to check into the possibility of crohn’s disease or colitis since I seem to be displaying many of the symptoms for both.

Who knows…maybe I will finally get an answer as to why I keep having abdominal pain and everything I eat runs right through me within a few hours.

But then again…..this has still been a great weight loss plan….done 14lbs since last Friday!

Here’s hoping for answers soon….colonoscopy is scheduled for April 1st….I hope my doctor doesn’t decide to turn into a joker that day!

I’m sorry….I updated on Twitter and Facebook, but I neglected to mention on this here blog that I am no longer stuck in an uncomfortable hospital bed wearing a lovely gown with my derrière hanging out for all the hospital staff to see.

I came home this past Monday.

After all of the testing ( abdominal ultra sound, chest CT, X-rays, hida scan, and upper GI endoscopy), I came home without an answer as to what is causing me to have abdominal pain and forcing everything I eat to leave my system rapidly via the Northern route.

The only suggestion the doctor who was treating me had was that it could possibly be my gall bladder because when the medication was injected to make my gall bladder contract during my hida scan caused a lot of discomfort.

I however am not about to have my gall bladder removed based on theory.

I am seeing my primary doctor on Friday.

I have been getting more rest at home then I did at the hospital……and I have 3 kids at home….2 that are on Spring Break until Monday and one who just turned 3……and yes….I’ve still had more rest!

I’m still experiencing the pain but it has eased up a bit….

Oh, and this illness has been a great new weightloss program for me….I’ve lost 9 pounds since Friday!

The title of this post describes the events that occurred in my life this past Thursday night.

After the Hardworking Hubby left for work Thursday night, I finished watching my show and decided it was time to head to my desk and get some work done.  About 10 minutes after sitting down at my desk, my stomach began to hurt in a very, very bad way.  I thought I just needed to use the bathroom, so I excused myself from a conversation on Gmail Chat with @Blm03 and off I went.

After that….things get a little blurry.

I went to the bathroom.

I got very warm and dizzy.

The right side of my face started to stuff up.

Then it got hard to breathe.

Then my entire right side kind of went limp.

It’s really hard to describe.

All of this happened while I was sitting on the toilet.

I know….such a beautiful picture to paint.

Next thing I know I smacked my head on the wall/window frame because I blacked out.

I was beyond dizzy and couldn’t focus my vision.

It was pretty damn scary.

I had Zman call my dad and have my dad call 911 and get over to my house.

I knew something wasn’t right.

From there, I went to a stretcher into an ambulance. (Can’t wait to get that bill!)

I was having such a hard time breathing that I needed oxygen and my blood pressure was really low.

Once I got to the hospital I went through a series of tests and bloodwork.

It was soooo much fun.

I got an IV to administer fluids and some meds.

About 4 hours later, I finally got to leave.

Diagnosis….intestinal bleed and bowel infection.

NOT FUN.

I would not wish this on anyone.

Little did I know that I had been passing blood in my stools (EWWWW!!!!)

This is what led to my blood pressure dropping…or so I’ve been told.

So, now I sit at home taking some lovely antibiotics to fight the infection.

I am happy to report that I am starting to feel A LOT better!!!

Thanks to everyone who checked in with me on Facebook and Twitter after Zman reported his mom was in the hospital.

XOXO
