I received a phone call from my mom today.
The conversation went something like this:
Mom: “I was just on Facebook, and BLANK commented on a photo on one of her friend’s pages of her friend and her new boyfriend. You are never going to guess who she is dating.”
Me: “Sperm Donor #1?
Mom: “Yes. And everyone is leaving comments about how cute they are together and that he’s such a great guy.”
Me: “I’m almost home and I’ll check it out.”
I sat down in front of my computer and pulled up the picture.
This is what I saw:

And of course, here are the comments that went with it:

So after having left that last comment on there, I was shocked to get a reply from her.
I thought I’d be immediately deleted.
Instead, she replied with:
And then, she blocked me.
But of course, me being me, that didn’t stop me.
She may have blocked me from commenting but I could still send a message.
So, I did.
And the conversation went like this:
For some reason, I have yet to receive a reply from her.
I’m not going to hold my breath.
She’ll learn her lesson in due time.
Until then, she can have him.
I’m just thankful he can’t knock her up!
And then my mom popped up on Facebook informing me that my comments on the picture had been deleted.
I was in shock.
This new girlfriend is in denial.

As someone who knows all the parties involved, ( Sperm Donor, Both Mom’s of all 3 kids and the kids themselves) I can say that you my dear are in severe denial, you may remember the guy you knew 30 years ago, but he is not the same at all. These kids are all wonderful, and would like to see their dad, if they had the chance to know him, Neither mom is keeping them from him, he is far too busy to see them regularly, works sporadically, does not pay much child support and just plain does not seem to care. A real caring father would have a home for these kids to visit, a stable income to help support them and be there for them, watch the baseball and soccer games, school play’s etc. These moms make sure to be there for the kids, in fact husband number 2 is closer and more caring to child number one than his own father is, and he does it out of love not obligation. THese 2 moms do everything they can for these kids and the sperm donor does nothing. I do not call that a great father. He is snowing you big time, You should open your eyes before it is too late.
So I have to ask..if that a recent photo? Cause if so, she’s really doing her part to bring the ’80s hair back! Yowza.

Annie: why, why, o why did you let this pillar of moral terpitude slip through your fingers? Oh, that’s right: You actually have self-respect, common sense, an awesome husband and a SOUL (always a deal breaker)!

i just have to say, as someone who was in the situation the new girlfriend’s in right now – she’s going to regret ever believing a word he said. he knows exactly what lies to tell to spin the whole story in his favor when the truth is, he doesn’t care about seeing his kids.
when we were together, i had to nag him constantly to find out when their baseball games & ballet recitals were so we could go see them. i had to push him to reschedule weekends so we would get the kids & i always wondered why it seemed like i wanted to see them more than he did. when we had the kids, he’d spend the obligatory time with them, but most days, i’d have to tell him to get off the playstation & go outside & play catch with the boys. it was highly frustrating – not only to me, but to them. he would lie to them & they would ask me why – it broke my heart.
i supported him for a year & a half while we lived together & he cheated on me & eventually started dating someone else whom he left me for. to this day, he’ll deny it because he’s not man enough to own up to his mistakes. he never was & i doubt he ever will be.
the only thing i’ll ever miss about him is the only good thing that came from him – his kids…
