For those who follow me on Twitter or Facebook you are well aware of what this post will entail, for those who just stop by to check up on me….here’s the scoop.
My dear sweet little Tatertot is teething. He currently has his two front teeth on both the bottom and the top. When those teeth arrived, there were no signs of a teething baby. He was simply Tatertot — my happy, fun, well-behaved, sleep 12 hours toddler. Well—–all of that has changed over the last week. He’s teething BIG TIME right now—–all 4 of his molars are trying to surface (I guess I should be happy that they are all attempting to make their great appearance at once)! Needless to say, my happy, fun, well-behaved, sleep 12 hours toddler…..has disappeared! For the last week, he has been the cry, whine, scream, bite, crabby (yet cute) sleep a few hours here and there get up 300 million times a night kind of toddler. This new child that has taken over my son’s body has allowed me to get NO sleep, not much quiet time and a HUGE headache! I’ve been giving him Tylenol before bed, rubbing his gums and helping him any way that I can but it has been to no avail. That all changed yesterday/last night….when I caved and hit my breaking point!
——————>>>>> Side Note: My husband works 3rd shift, so he is gone between 9:30pm & 6:30am Sunday-Thursday and the 2 nights that he is home, Tatertot sleeps straight through the night <<<<<————————
Yesterday and the night before was hell for me! Every time I attempted to go to bed and was just about asleep…I’d hear that incessant cry/scream coming from the next room and I’d be right back out of bed. Finally at about 5am yesterday morning (4/29/09) I was able to fall asleep ——- for 45 minutes that is and then……there it was again! I went and grabbed the little dude, and we sat in the living room snuggled up watching TV until daddy walked in the door @ 6:30 —- I took one look at my Hardworking Hubby, who had just put in his 8 hours at work and said,
“It’s my turn to sleep now, right”?
He looked at my eyes and could see how tired I was and simply replied,
“Sweetie, go to bed”.
So- I did! The little Tatertot was up and down the rest of the morning, so after 3 hours of sleep, we switched spots and I took the little man. By the time the Hardworking Hubby got up at 6pm I had hit my breaking point….he walked in the living room and I said,
“Go to the ATM, take out some cash, go to the liquor store and get me a bottle of blackberry brandy and a bottle of wine”!
To sum it all up, I got 8 hours of sleep last night and Tatertot got 10, woke up when daddy got home, had breakfast and went back down for 2 more hours! All is quiet in our house again!!!

Hard to believe that the last time he was at the park before this he couldn’t even crawl. Oh how my little man has grown!
Dear Door-Door Roller-Blade Wearing Flyer Delivery Guy,
While I understand that you are paid to go door-to-door and leave flyers hanging on every doorknob in town, I do have a few complaints that I wish to share with you.
First of all, I do not appreciate you wearing short shorts (really short shorts) while you are in the workplace — it frightens me and I fear that something might “pop” out and scare not only me but my children and I am trying to protect them.
Secondly, not only do you deliver the above mentioned fliers on roller blades and in really short shorts, you listen to music on your old school walk man and sing rather loudly to the hits of the 80′s while in the workplace and let me tell you, your customers and co-workers……they do not enjoy it.
Third, honestly how many fliers for cash advances, lawn care, cellular service and nail salons do you really think we need?? Between the fliers on my door and the emails in my Spam box, I think I have things more than covered.
Lastly, just because you saw me come outside to get the mail and walk back into my garage to go back into my home, while leaving my garage door open, DOES NOT give you permission to enter said garage and leave a flier hanging on my garage door.
Now, Mr. Door-Door Flyer Roller-Blading Delivery Guy you may ask what would I like you to do to correct this? For starters, do the entire town a favor and wear some clothing that actually covers you from the waist to at least the knee. Also, stop singing when you’re wearing headphones because in all honesty…..you look like a jack-ass! Next, maybe you should pay attention to the no soliciting sign on my front door! Lastly, stay out of my garage….nobody invited you in!
I’m really quite tired of picking up garbage fliers off my porch, lawn, mailbox and now my garage. If you keep leaving them behind I am going to follow you home one day and then when you go to bed at night, I am going to put every flier I have on your door and yard and see how you like it!
Thank you,
mommy…mommy…MOMMY!!!
This past Saturday, April 25th 2009 was the local March of Dimes/March for Babies Walk (or as it used to be known…Walk America). I am proud to report that all 3 of my children walked with their grandparents ( I could not due to my knee and having to attend a soccer meeting). I wish I could say the weather conditions in Green Bay where was and sunny for the walk, but unfortunately it was cold and rainy….not just a little rain here and there…we’re talking pouring down in buckets rain! My 2 oldest, Zman & DramaQueen walked the full 3 miles happily while donning their rain ponchos and an umbrella occasionally. By the 1st check point when I stopped to see them, they were freezing and sopping wet….soaked straight through the poncho and all their clothing but they were still in high spirits and committed to finishing the walk.

The pictures don’t even begin to show just how wet they were!
As for Tatertot…..he napped through the entire walk and was thrilled to get some food at the end!

All in all, the kids had a good day and I am very proud that given the weather conditions, they didn’t give up and walked the full 3 miles! Next year, we will all be donning our purple in honor of Maddie and other babies and the whole family will be walking!
Here are a few other pics I took of the walk:
